The focal point of this necklace is the gold drop, but the color variations in the stones, from soft greens, to brown, to black make it a true standout. Gold accent beads bring a touch of extra warm glow to this easy to wear piece.

This is a continuation of a theme, the dainty drop necklace. The charm itself is faceted, playing off the smooth spacer beads and rough facets of the stone beads. And while this IS turquoise, it's not the bright blue shade, but instead African Turquoise features a variation in colors that are particularly pretty, including shades of green, brown and black. These stones have a matte, rustic quality, played up by the rough facet cuts.

The Do's

Handmade and hand knotted jewelry pieces are durable, but NOT indestructible. Be good to your jewelry and follow these tips to keep your items looking like new as long as possible:

  • Make jewelry the last thing to go on, after sunscreens, lotions and perfumes have been applied AND dried.

The Don'ts
  • Don't wear jewelry in the shower, while swimming in the pool or ocean, sunbathing, or while working up a serious sweat. Exposure to water, salt, and chemicals will tarnish, discolor, or wear away fine metal plating and may discolor and weaken beading cord.
  • Sunscreen, lotions, perfumes, and hairspray may be good on you, but are bad on your jewelry. Avoid direct contact with fine metal plating and gemstone beads as they can become stained or discolored.
  • Don't use metal cleaners, dips, or polishing agents as these will damage fine metal plating.
  • Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause some natural gemstones to lose their color and fade, so avoid storing jewelry in direct sunlight.
