Back in the day, I wore big, obnoxious earrings like everyone else. Lucky for me, I outgrew that trend before stretching my ear lobes down to my knee caps. I have a good number of piercings (6 on the left ear), so that's not an exaggeration... But for years I stuck with wearing lightweight hoops - a lot of them, but it wasn't the most interesting fashion statement. Then one day, it happened. I was ready to jump back in the earring game, try a new and different stack, but keeping to a strict set of design rules.
1) Keep it simple
2) The earrings had to be VERY lightweight
3) If they could be sexy too, bonus points!
Mission accomplished. I started with simple black brass + gold vermeil threaders and have been moving my way through the stone color spectrum. Threader earrings offer the perfect real estate to showcase a REALLY beautiful stone, catching the light and framing your gorgeous face. And... I'm not ashamed to admit I get a wee bit obsessed stroking my threader chain throughout the day. Don't judge - you'll see, it's habit forming.
| Styling Tips | Slide threader through from front to back. If you have multiple piercings, experiment with wrapping the chain through a second and even third hole. This makes the earrings super secure and looks very cool (to us it does!) Comes with soft, non-toxic, comfortable and hypo-allergenic high grade rubber earring backs. These are optional to wear - they'll ensure the threaders stay in place. Take care when using rubber backings to avoid bending the metal wire threader or delicate chain. If application is difficult, push a safety pin through backing to widen the opening. Master the earring stack by wearing a threader in your first piercing, a simple bar higher up your lobe. |
